Activision is allegedly planning to reverse the tendency for developing Call of Duty for Xbox 360 as the primary platform when it comes to PS4 and Xbox One.

Call of Duty has traditionally been developed with the Xbox 360 as the primary platform but, according to noted leaked Famous Mortimer, that tendency will reverse when it comes to PS4 and Xbox One.

According to Famous Mortimer, Activision will be making an announcement to confirm that PS4 will be the lead platform for Call of Duty games going forward.

It's not clear whether this would extend to Call of Duty DLC coming to PS4 before the Xbox One, but given that this was the case on Xbox 360, it's feasible that the PS4 could get Call of Duty DLC ahead of the Xbox One.

If the rumour regarding Activision's plans for Call of Duty on PS4 and Xbox One proves to be true, then the news would be another PR blow for Microsoft and the Xbox One.

There would likely be very little impact in terms of tangible effects, given that Call of Duty will still come to both PS4 and Xbox One.

However, the negative perception that the switch would create for the Xbox One would only add to criticisms regarding the perceived technological inferiority of the console.
