Update: Sony's Shuhei Yoshida has indicated that Sony are aware of the issues that some users are experiencing with the PS4 and are looking into them.

"Be assured we are investigating reported PS4 issues," said Yoshida, via Twitter.

"The number is very small compared to shipped, we believe they are isolated incidents," Yoshida continued.

Original story: PS4 display issues are being reported by a number of individuals with access to a PS4, with the users detailing problems which indicate possible problems with the PS4's HDMI port.

IGN reported having problems with their PS4 failing to output through HDMI and a number of PS4 owners who obtained their console through a Taco Bell promotion have taken to NeoGAF to report similar issues.

One PS4 owner has uploaded a video showing the display problems they are having with the system.

Interestingly, Kotaku also reported having a faulty PS4 and suggested that the problem lay with a faulty HDMI port.

This could be the same issue that other PS4 users are having. Well, let's hope its the same issue - one problem is bad enough, but if it turned out the PS4 has multiple issues at launch, that would be a disaster.

Having said that, there have already been reports about the PS4' OS bricking consoles

Faults with launch consoles have unfortunately proved to be fairly common in the past. We can only hope that won't prove to be the case this time.
