Mass Effect 2 to be "emotional"

Christopher Reynolds 10:57, Tuesday 24 February 2009

In an interview with 360 magazine, Bioware CEO Ray Muzyka spoke on the emotional impact he hopes Mass Effect 2 will have on players

“At the end of the day we want people to feel something,” said Muzyka. “We want them to be emotionally compelled; choices have to have consequences that are emotionally impactful... Because they are choices with double edges it’s part of the emotional investment. The pay back you get is thinking ‘what if I had done that differently?’ Just like real life you make a decision and you have to live with it and because you have to live with it you feel that emotion.”

Muzyka wouldn't go into much detail on the plot, which has been described as far darker than the original Mass Effect, but he did further add to speculation that Mass Effect 2 would be released on PS3, saying Bioware is looking to reach "as wide an audience as possible".
