Rise of the Pirate God concludes five-month episodic saga; Sam and Max to return in 2010

The finale apparently sees long-suffering hero Guybrush Threepwood embark "on a quest to find the voodoo exfoliating artifact, La Esponja Grande, after accidentally releasing the pox of LeChuck on the Caribbean's unsuspecting population."

There's more to it than that, and we're sure the above means something to series devotees, but that'll be the end of Monkey Island for a while, while Telltale returns to that other classic LucasArts franchise, Sam & Max.

The new teaser site isn't giving away much other than a possible science-fiction theme. in the mean time, check out the Monkey Island conclusion for PC over at Telltale, and look out for the Wiiware version in the coming weeks.
