New Tomb Raider To Have Multiplayer?

New job advert sparks the usual series of potentially wayward assumptions...

Tomb Raider developers Crystal Dynamics – the company that us old farts will always remember for its staggering array of quality output on the defunct 3DO – is apparently advertising for a multiplayer project lead.

Hardly surprising when measuring the unexpected success of Uncharted 2 in the multiplayer arena. Allegedly re-imagining the Tomb Raider series (does it need to – we loved the last one), presumably to be more like Uncharted 2 *sigh* the job ad demands “advanced knowledge of current multiplayer design (systems, ability and technical interface), ability to design multiplayer maps from written map designs, building 3D rough drafts, participate extensively in playtesting sessions, iterating maps based on feedback and making necessary improvements to those maps."

“Just like Tomb Raider, only with more players”

We might not meet all those requirements, but we’re pretty good at making tea.
