Warframe was announced to be coming to PS4 ahead of E3 2013, but Digital Extremes is at the show to demo its free-to-play co-op shooter.
Digital Extremes has been complimentary of Sony before, so we caught up with them to find out what, exactly, made Sony such great collaborators.
"[Sony is] amazing, amazing," said Warframe's creative director Steve Sinclair. "We had a PC beta and they actually reached out to us and said 'what do you guys think about getting this on PS4?' and we said 'okay! Send us some kits and we'll try!' and here we are.
"So they've been really, really good to us. Considering that we're not a publisher, and we're trying to self-publish and do this on our own deal, you know?"
Sinclair added that most companies "respond with 'come back when you've got a publisher' so this has been really nice, really fulfilling for us."
And how is the PS4 to develop for compared to the PS3? Sinclair claims it's "radically better".
"There's still so much goodness in the compute shaders and the other stuff that we haven't tapped into yet," he added, "so I'm really really excited. I'm relieved, really, about how nice it is to work with it."
We've actually had hands-on with the PS4 version of Warframe at E3 2013 too, and so if you're interested be sure to read our Warframe hands-on.
