Sony has revealed that the PS4 is not natively backwards compatible with PS3 games but the new Gaikai streaming service will makes games available via the cloud.

Gaikai’s David Perry took to the stage in New York to reveal just how the PS4 would interact with the PlayStation back catalogue. It will offer an immediate and social experience. Everything from the PSone to the PS2 and the PS3 will eventually be available.

But, Perry also revealed that this service will roll out in phases. There was also no word on what the games would look like while they were being streamed or whether a dip in quality would occur, but it’s an incredible ambitious feature.
