Ubisoft On Connor’s Future: ‘There’s Always More To Tell’

Assassin’s Creed 3 might have introduced the Native American Connor to the series and seemingly wrapped his story up in a single game, but Ubisoft has hinted that ‘there’s always more to tell’.
And that actually goes for any of the series’ protagonists.
Speaking to NowGamer, Assassin’s Creed 3’s creative director Marc-Alexis Cote was evasive when asked outright whether the third game’s DLC was the end of Connor’s story, but hinted that the series could always return to any of its characters.
“That’s an excellent question and one that I cannot answer [laughs]. There is always something more to tell about our characters and more side-stories to explore for Altair, Ezio and Connor,” explained Cote.
“We’re building games about the lives of these people, but there is so much stuff to explore in history. And that’s what is magical about Assassin’s Creed. We have an endless quantity of material and I like to be able to show different periods to players.”
Though Assassin’s Creed 3’s DLC, The Tyranny Of King George, is taking the series in some interesting fantastical directions, Connor’s new powers are still an official part of the series canon and what transpires in the DLC does have a greater meaning within the context of the game.
“It is canon, it is part of the main story and we know where we are going with it,” explained Cote. “It’s done in a manner that’s super respectful and players will finish the DLC and say ‘huh, interesting’.”
