Nintendo could well be looking into adopting a little bit of Play, Create, Share into future Mario games, which is more than a little ironic considering Sackboy owes his existence to the Italian plumber.
In a recent interview with games™, New Super Mario U director Masataka Takemoto chatted to the magazine all about the latest Mario game.
But when asked about whether Mario could one day feature the ability to create and share levels in a fashion similar to LittleBigPlanet, Takemoto replied:
"I think the Coin Edit feature in Coin Battle is a step closer to that. There is a possibility of this happening in the future, but there's no use just blindly making that feature available. We would need to carefully think about how to make such a system work."
It's something Nintendo is thinking about then, though Takemoto insists that if it did happen it with need to be "something that is uniquely Nintendo."
As an example, Takemoto said this would need to be "Where a beginner can easily make something and have a good time, and simultaneously, someone who is really into Mario can delve into it deep and make something more complex."
He's hopeful though, with Takemoto claiming "that is a chellange we will need to tackle in the future."
Is this a feature Nintendo needs to implement into Mario games, or are you just as content playing the developer's own levels?
