Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 may have only just been released but that hasn’t stopped many looking to the future and the next installment of the franchise, which could be Modern Warfare 4.
Given the cyclical tandem nature of the Call Of Duty development process, on completion of last year’s Modern Warfare 3 Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games more than likely moved onto a new project and this will probably have been the next game in the Call Of Duty series – whatever that is.
With many rumours pointing towards a continuation of the Modern Warfare saga with Modern Warfare 4, Siliconera claims it could have discovered potential lines of dialogue from the new game.
According to the site, Activision has been recording voiceovers for the new game and a ‘source’ has explained that the main character is a ‘battle-hardened veteran in his mid-thirties’ codenamed Ben Burk.
Here are some of the lines apparently recorded for Modern Warfare 4:
"Reminds you of Phuket, doesn’t it? Only this time the dust gives you cancer… OK, park yourself and get ready. When this thing kicks off, put a hole in anything that moves."
"This is Sentinel Zero One, successful crypto change on C2 net break, requesting immediate update of blue force picture and status of artillery, over. I have you broken and unreadable, I say again, requesting updates to friendly positions and status of arty support. Do you read, over?"
"We’ve got KVA on the move! They’re going to strongpoint the main gate, ETA two mikes! We’re providing support for our heavy rollers! Ready up and let’s move!"
"Goliath, this is Sentinel Zero One! We have enemy armor at the gate, hundred meters north of our position! Requesting close-air grid mark three-one-six!"
The site also claims that another scene was recorded that took place in Somalia with the series' famous John ‘Soap’ MacTavish and this scene could have been a flashback.
This isn’t the first time Modern Warfare 4 rumours have surfaced. When some hinted that Infinity Ward was working on a ‘straight’ Modern Warfare sequel and talking to voice actors the studio debunked the rumours tweeting:
"Interesting news today, but it's not true. We've not talked with any voice actors, so all news is speculation."
