Assassin’s Creed 3’s patch, which should go a long way to fixing many of the graphical bugs and glitches in Ubisoft's latest game, could be arriving in the next week or so according to Ubisoft’s lead game designer and community developer.

Speaking to Assassin’s Creed 3 fans on Reddit, lead game designer Steven Masters, confirmed that the patch was still on its way and was currently in the process of certification.

When asked outright what was happening with the Assassin’s Creed 3 patch, he said:

“Soon! We'll release details as soon as we know; we have to pass certification on it first.”

This was backed up by community developer, Gabriel "Gabe" Graziani, who also confirmed that details on the patch should emerge shortly.

“…expect details to arrive within a week or so!”

Graziani was asked directly what the patch would include and he went on to mention a number of the more pertinent issues that were plaguing players including falling through the world, difficult chase sequences and, bizarrely, not liking Connor’s hood at the end of the game.

“So far, we haven't really announced anything like that... we've already mentioned here that we'll be reworking the hood after finishing the game (that one is 100% due to player feedback, we had no idea there would be such a huge reaction to this) in addition to easing up the difficulty on a few of the chases people had mentioned were giving them a really hard time.”

“Other stuff includes patching holes in the terrain where players could fall through the world and moving unfortunate spawn points that would spawn players under the map where they would fall into the core of the Earth to their deaths. AND MORE!!”

That’s a lot of technical issues that arguably should have been fixed before the game shipped – especially the issues of players falling through the world – but lead game designer, Steven Masters also went on to confirm that the UI was going through an overhaul and would be a lot faster to use after the patch.

“The UI had some technical issues very late in development that meant we had to slow down access to the weapon wheel particularly; it pissed me off as well. Sorry. We're trying to improve it in the patches!”
