Sony Aims For Interactive TV

Have you ever wanted to kick an actor in the backside and be scored points for doing so?
Are you a fan of Mystery Science Theater 3000? If you’ve answered yes to both, well done – you’re a nerd! Also, a recently revealed Sony patent from April may just cater for your wildest fantasies, offering an interesting interactive TV experience on your favourite films and TV shows.
Basically, the system looks to replicate the look of MST3K (which is directly referenced in the documents, by the way) by overlaying the screen of a movie or suchlike with audience member avatars. But that’s not all – these avatars will be able to take part in games such as throwing rotten tomatoes, shooting spiders off of the backs of actors and, of course, kicking people in the arse.
