XBL Sky Launch Failure Down to Demand
Tom Hopkins 09:41, Thursday 29 October 2009

Microsoft and Sky have blamed yesterday's suspension of the console's TV service launch on "unforeseen technical issue" due to tens of thousands of customers attempting to sign up
"The launch was met with phenomenal demand, with many tens of thousands of customers attempting to sign-up within the first hour of launch," Microsoft added in its own statement. "Unfortunately, due to the unprecedented levels of simultaneous demand, we did not have the capacity to satisfy all service requests and therefore temporarily suspended all access to the service."
“The levels of simultaneous demand meant we did not have the capacity to satisfy all service requests”
Sky said its engineers were working to resolve the problem, and that it should all be running smoothly now – let us know if you still can't access the broadcaster's 24 offered channels – which include Sky1, Sky Movies, MTV, Disney, G.O.L.D., Sky Arts, Nickelodeon, National Geographic, Eden, History, Sky Sports, ESPN and Eurosport.
