Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has taken to Twitter to defend the age of Big Boss.

Prior to the impressive demo reveal the FOX Engine and the official announcement of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, Kojima Productions released an art asset of Snake.

This led many to speculate over Snake's age - and therefore the era that Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes would be set in - but it didn't correlate to the gameplay video, which showed a much older Big Boss character.

Kojima spotted the comments from many discussing this difference, and so clarified this was in fact because of the "rim-lighting" making Snake's hair appear greyer than it actually is.

Further to this, Kojima then tweeted an image with Big Boss' goggle removed, inexplicably giving the veteran stealth action hero a giant head in the process.
