Hitman Absolution's Contracts mode will enable players to share challenges with friends by noting and the file number of the missions they create.
But despite reports claiming the code will be crackable and players will be able to create and share missions between PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, Io Interactive has since confirmed this is not the case.
"It's NOT possible to 'crack' the Contracts codes and share across platform. The codes do allow you to share a contract easily with friends," the Hitman studio tweeted.
"We'll have to deal with something within the political rules that allow us to do that," designer Torben Ellert had previously told Joystiq regarding the sharing of contracts. "We're interested in featuring community contracts so that we avoid that whole wasp's nest."
"[Contracts] was built in a way for people to asynchronously share things," said Ellert. "The trick is you have to do it yourself. You have to be able to pull it off yourself."
