Final Fantasy 7's upcoming PC re-release launched for PC over the weekend via Square Enix's US store - but buyers were unable to play the game according to MCV.
Square Enix released the game in error and will issue a statement accordingly, says the report.
Final Fantasy 7's SecuROM DRM stopped gamers from accessing the game even though they'd paid for it.
The revised version of Final Fantasy 7 for PC was revealed last month, but has no set release date.
