PS Vita has sold just shy of 800,000 units in Japan since launching there in December, and Sony isn't worried.

Andriasang - via Famitsu - reports that 790,633 PS Vita units have been sold in Japan since launch.

However, a Sony Japan rep clarified to Famitsu that the figures fall in line with Sony's expectations for the PS Vita.

The spokesperson also explained to Famitsu that August will see the console given a major boost of new software.
