PS Vita Has Sold Less Than 1 Million Units In Japan, But Sony Isn't Worried

PS Vita has sold under a million units in Japan, according to new figures released by Famitsu. More details here.

PS Vita has sold just shy of 800,000 units in Japan since launching there in December, and Sony isn't worried. 

Andriasang - via Famitsu - reports that 790,633 PS Vita units have been sold in Japan since launch.

However, a Sony Japan rep clarified to Famitsu that the figures fall in line with Sony's expectations for the PS Vita.

The spokesperson also explained to Famitsu that August will see the console given a major boost of new software.

Famitsu has also revealed a breakdown of the highest-selling PS Vita games in Japan, with western entry Uncharted: Golden Abyss coming in at a surprising third.

6: Tales of Innocence R (71,463 units sold)

7: Lord of Apocalypse (69,162 units sold)

8: Ragnarok Odyssey (65,318 units sold)

9: Gundam Seed Battle Destiny (55,527 units sold)

10: Disgaea 3 Return (54,902 units sold)
