Total War: Rome 2 has been officially announced for PC by Sega and The Creative Assembly for a 2013 release date, along with some stunning debut screens and artwork. There is no word on a console version.
Your PC spec will sing thanks to Total War: Rome 2's new graphics engine, according to The Creative Assembly's creative director Mike Simpson, "Our games have always encompassed a grand vision. But we’re now pushing that vision at both ends of the spectrum."
"From the immense reach of the sandbox campaign right down to the human-level drama of a single warrior on the battlefield, we’re aiming for an unprecedented level of detail and scale”, Simpson added.
Interestingly, Sega's Total War: Rome 2 fact sheet states that the game will be "Completely scalable", and with "performance optimsed for your PC or laptop", regardless of spec.
The game will also feature politics, family betrayals, naval combat, forging alliances and more. Total War: Rome 2 promises to be the biggest and most ambitious game in the series to date.
