Rockstar hints at future plans for the multiplayer crew system headed to Max Payne 3 and GTA 5.

Max Payne 3's legacy on Rockstar's upcoming multiplayer 'crews' system won't become evident until "long after Max Payne 3 has been released," according to Lead multiplayer designer Charlie Bewsher, who confirms crews will continue to feud in "GTA 5 and beyond."
GTA 5 will be the second game to incorporate the clan-like Rockstar Social Hub-driven system, which will enable players to perpetuate "friendships and feuds and rivalries," across multiple games.
Asked how Rockstar will apply lessons learnt with Max Payne 3 to future releases Bewsher told NowGamer: "We’re always thinking about the future but we won’t really be able to answer that until long after Max Payne 3 has been released.
"The community needs to establish itself and we will of course be entrenched in it, constantly watching and reviewing. That said, with our Crew features and the way all the friendships and feuds and rivalries players create in Max Payne 3 can be transferred over into GTA 5 and beyond, it’s clear that we’ve got big plans for future Rockstar releases."
The only other announced Rockstar game is AWOL PS3 exclusive Agent, while recent rumours have hinted at sequels for Red Dead Redemption and Bully.
