Brand new details drop for Halo 4 multiplayer, direct from 343 Industries.

Halo 4 is out at the end of the year, but we still don't know too much about what 343 Industries will do with the gmae's multiplayer offering.
Coverage in the latest issue of GI (via Examiner) has uncovered new details explaining what Halo fans can expect.
A new currency system, Spartan Points, will enable players to buy new abilities armour and new Spec Op-style missions, known as Spartan Ops.
Spartan Ops missions will have a story, with content ongoing for 'several months' and rival the main campaign for size. No further details were revealed, so we don't know if this will entail some sort of DLC programme.
The hub of Halo's multiplayer will be called 'Infinity', after the UNSC Infinity ship, apparently sent on a mission into deep space - and containing the virtual reality 'red vs. blue' training environment that comprises Halo 4's multiplayer.
Sprint returns as an always-available armour perk, meaning players can spend points on a second ability, such as Forerunner Vision which enable players to see through walls. Returning abilities include the hologram, jetpack, and active camo - but Elites won't be playable in Halo 4's multiplayer.
343 Industries apparently isn't planning a dedicated Firefight mode - presumably due to the Spartan Ops missions, while new mode Regicide sees the leading scorer targeted in free-for-all - the more kills they get the bigger the reward when someone eventually gets them.
Meanwhile, 343 will reward players for with medals for being a distraction (ie getting killed a lot ) or getting revenge.
Weapons will drop at random locations on each map this time around, making weapons camping fairly impossible - players will also be able to join matches that have already started, while player respawns will be instantaneous, according to the article.
