Epic Games has secured the rights to make iOS games based on Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson's Fighting Fantasy IP.
The 'Make Something Unreal Live' independent game development challenge will see four start-up studios release games based on 'The Warlock of Firetop Mountain,' 'The Citadel of Chaos,' 'Deathtrap Dungeon' and 'Armies of Death'.
They're due to hit the App Store this spring, after they've been "revealed and refined", live, in real-time in front of attendees of Gadget Show Live 2012, which takes place at the Birmingham NEC in mid-April.
"Steve Jackson and I are delighted to see our ‘Fighting Fantasy’ gamebooks being developed as iOS games by new teams of talented and enthusiastic students. It will be really interesting to see how our IP will be captured and interpreted for the iOS platform,” said co-creator Ian Livingstone.
The UK gaming veteran recently revealed via Twitter that he is working on a new Fighting Fantasy title - check out our recent Ian Livingstone interview for more.
