Crysis and CryEngine studio Crytek is developing a browser-based distribution platform, Gface, which has just begun a closed beta.
Gface will be able to deliver anything from 'casual 2D games' to 'core 3D games' according to the technology's website.
Earlier this week we revealed that Crytek is hiring staff to make 'browser games'.
Crytek has confirmed it will embrace free-to-play gaming in a big way, starting with Warface, which looks set to be distributed via Gface if the platform's promo images are anything to go by.
Gface is set to launch on PC as well as various mobile devices, and will offer numerous social and media features as well as games - is Crytek going after cloud-gaming services such as OnLive and Gaikai?
It certainly looks like it - get an insight into Crytek's plans with our in-depth interview.
