Namco's Tekken 6 creative director Katsuhiro Harada has told NowGamer he doesn't feel under pressure despite the rise in successful fighting games
"Although The fighting genre has made a comeback in recent years [I] don’t really feel so much pressure now," he told us. "The most pressure I felt was when (on the PlayStation One) Tekken 3 really took off and was selling well."
“You have all these different games but they also give you inspiration”
"At that time we weren’t number one – Virtua Fighter was still a very strong rival," continued Harada. "With the current generation of hardware we’ve seen an increase in fighting games and successful franchises but it’s a joy to the team because you have all these different games but they also give you inspiration. Also you have the fans buying these different games, and the genre as a whole is growing as a result."
Tekken 6 is released on 30 October.
