The Texas gaming event will feature the first public demonstrations of id's Rage and Bethesda's Brink
id software has confirmed the line-up for the 2009 QuakeCon. The Gaylord Texan Hotel in Dallas will host North America's biggest free LAN party, with all manner of events to enter and prizes up for grabs.
“We'll expect the game will be running on a PC rig considering the audience”
The con will also feature a keynote speech by John Carmack, as well as a press conference by id and a presentation by Bethesda's Todd Howard. The recently launched Rage website www.aftertheimpact.com has been hinting for a few weeks that more details on the game were going to emerge at the con, although no details have been forthcoming – we'll expect the game will be running on a PC rig considering the audience, but also due to the recent controversy surrounding the respective frame rates of the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game.
Check out the QuakeCon schedule here, and look for more on both Rage and Brink on NowGamer.com when the con starts on Thursday.
