Intrepid GTA 5 fans who have been digging through GTA 5 source code have discovered an intriguing addition that has appeared since GTA 5’s 1.12 update.
Se7venSins member Ch0m3 x MoDz found a string called ‘JETPACK’ in the game’s xex file.
Within that same file, the following were also found:
- Prop_SPA_Jetpack
- CTaskJetpack
- TASK_JETPACK
- DRIVEBY_JETPACK // Setting it so you can shoot from the JETPACK just like parachute
- .?AUTunables@CTaskJetpack@@
- ?AVCTaskMotionJetpack@@
- .?AVCJetpack@@
- .?AVCTaskJetpack@@
- .?AVCGadgetJetpack@@ // the actual jetpack just like parachute.
If the information posted by Ch0m3 x MoDz is correct, then it seems very likely that Rockstar will be adding jet packs to GTA 5 at some point in the future.
Rockstar has said that GTA 5 story DLC is on its way, so perhaps jet packs will be introduced as part of that.
