GTA 5: Analysts Hopeful Of 2012 Release After Max Payne 3 Shuffle
GTA 5 is likely to launch before Take-Two’s next financial year is up according to a host of industry analysts – meaning a release date before April 2014.
Speaking in response to Rockstar’s rescheduling of Max Payne 3 (now launching in May instead of March) National Alliance Capital Markets analyst Mike Hickey told GI: “It seems unlikely that Rockstar Games would launch both Max Payne 3 and GTA 5 in the month of May.”
GTA 5’s release date will therefore fall between September 2012 and March 2013, NCAM predicts.
Meanwhile, Wedbush Securities’ Michael Pachter thinks GTA 5 should avoid going up against this year’s Call of Duty. EEDAR’s Jesse Divnich concurred that Rockstar would aim to launch GTA 5 before fiscal 2014, which begins in April 2013.
GTA 5 developer Rockstar North recently dropped the term ‘next-gen’ from a job listing following a NowGamer report.
