Wimbledon is well underway, and we bet quite a few of you are itching to create a Murray triumph on the virtual courts. So kick back with a bowl of strawberries and cream and check out our reviews round-up of all the tennis games on offer on current gen consoles.
Playstation 3
“Check out all the aces and faults of this generation's tennis games in our review round-up”
Virtua Tennis 3
Score: 9.1
Verdict: "Fluid and fun as expected. It’s ideal for onthe- move play sessions but is ultimately overshadowed by its predecessor. The new mini-games are a blast though, and we can’t overly punish what is still the best tennis experience out there."
Virtua Tennis 2009
Score: 8.0
Verdict: "The best in the series so far, but with no real gameplay improvements, the action may feel far too familiar to owners of Virtua Tennis 3 – if you’re one of them, only check this out if you can’t live without PSN."

Top Spin 3
Score: 7.1
Verdict: "Top Spin 3 is a good, realistic tennis game, but to find that out you’re really going to have to spend a lot of your time and energy on it."
Sega Superstar Tennis
Score: 5.4
Verdict: "Nobody asked for a watered-down Virtua Tennis 3, but here it is! Sega Superstars Tennis makes banal use of Sega’s heritage, and abandons the explosive creativity that Sumo was once associated with."
Xbox 360
Virtua Tennis 3
Score: 8.0
Verdict: "There is no other sports sim out there that can beat Virtua Tennis 3 for entertainment value. It’s not perfect but, so long as you have people to play against, you’ll never get bored."
Top Spin 2
Score: 8.0
Verdict: "2K games has taken Virtua Tennis’ baton and run with it. Fluid, dramatic and exciting, Top Spin 2 raises the bar for videogame tennis. Can Sega catch up with Virtua Tennis 3? Time will tell..."
Top Spin 3
Score: 8.0
Verdict: "If you’re looking for a tennis game to get stuck into this summer you won’t go wrong here. Basically, 2K promised and has delivered yet again. We can’t say fairer than that!"
Virtua Tennis 2009
Score: 7.1
Verdict: "The game’s so similar to Virtua Tennis 3 it’s almost criminal, but that doesn’t stop it being supremely entertaining with ideal offline multiplayer. If you’re a die-hard Andy Murray fan – if such a thing exists – then it might be worth it, but for everyone else, VT3 will suffice."
Sega Superstar Tennis
Score: 4.5
Verdict: "If you like tennis then you might like to get Virtua Tennis instead and if you like Sega characters, get their own proper games. Even playing as the dwarf in Golden Axe is better in Golden Axe."
Wii
Sega Superstars Tennis
Score: 8.1
Verdict: "A well-rounded piece of family entertainment, and a cut above Wii Tennis."
Virtua Tennis 2009
Score: 7.6
Verdict: "The Motion Plus controls greatly add to the overall experience, but even without the new device Virtua Tennis 2009 plays a perfectly acceptable game of tennis. It’s not quite as accessible as we were expecting, but persevere and you’ll definitely reap the rewards."
Top Spin 3
Score: 5.8
Verdict: "An attempt at a realistic tennis sim that doesn’t quite come off."
Mario Power Tennis
Score: 5.1
Verdict: "Who would have thought that Wii controls would actually make a game more complicated? Well they do in Mario Tennis: a game that’s fun with the controls set to the most basic level but one that’s still not as good as in its original release."
