E3 2010: NowGamer’s Coverage Schedule
NowGamer’s four-man team hits the ground in LA on Sunday to bring you every last shred of info from the week of gaming presentations, events, demos, interviews and more. Here’s our guide of what to look out for – and when.
Sunday, June 13
Microsoft Natal Presentation 3am BST/7pm PST
Will it be called Wave? We’ll find out at the first event on the E3 2010 calendar as Microsoft unveils a look at it’s finished motion tracking peripheral. Expect loads of games, hands-on impressions and a few surprises – team NowGamer will be live-blogging direct from the presentation will all the news, pics and of course comment.
Monday, June 14
Microsoft Conference 6pm BST/10am PST
More liveblogging from the NowGamer team, as we hit LA to see what Microsoft has to say. Again. With motion control already covered expect the top dogs at Xbox to talk more about exclusive games, business strategy, and the future of the console – maybe even the rumoured rebranding/slim version/natal bundle and more, as well as the now obligatory surprise announcements…
EA Conference 10pm BST/2pm PST
Boom. The big guns continue to fire with EA pushing its not-inconsiderable lineup after lunch. The Old Republic, Crysis 2, Medal of Honor, Bulletstorm, MMA, FIFA 11 and Sims 3 console could all be involved, and we’ll be amazed if there aren’t at least a couple of unveils with Criterion recently hinting that the first look at its Need For Speed game is due next week. Will it be at E3? We’ll be there to find out. Oh, and if EA don’t show off some games for the new HD motion control systems we’ll eat both our arms.
Ubisoft Conference 1am BST/5pm PST
The Assassin’s Creed publisher will surely show us more of the next title in the franchise – Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood – while reveals for a new Driver game, as well as more on Ghost Recon Future Soldier and HAWX 2 are a given. Another publisher that will no doubt have plenty of Move/Natal games to talk about – read about them all right here on NowGamer.
Valve ‘Surprise’ 3am BST/7pm PST
Okay, so the mystique surrounding this has been dampened somewhat, with Valve delaying Portal 2 until 2011 and confirming, unequivocally, that the ‘surprise’ is Portal 2 related, rather than Half-Life or anything else. Shouldn’t stop this being at least a tiny-bit surprising though, especially if they come out and say something like “we’ve been lying through their teeth all along and Half Life 3 is out tomorrow!” Now that would be surprising. Whatever it turns out to be, keep an eye on NowGamer for all the details.
Tuesday, 15 June
Nintendo Conference 5pm BST/9am PST
And that makes three. It’s a big year for Nintendo with the imminent HD motion controllers finally offering an alternative to the Wii – cue the first look at a brand new Zelda game for the console, not to mention the distinct chance that we’ll finally get to see the 3D successor to the DS. The NowGamer team will be on hand to Liveblog the hell out of every last detail.
Sony Conference 8pm BST/12pm PST
The clash of the titans is on as Sony pimps its own developments. We say developments as most of the publisher’s game announcements seem to have been taken care of pre-event, with LittleBigPlanet 2, Infamous 2, Killzone 3, and Motorstorm 3 all detailed in recent weeks. That’s not to say there won’t be plenty of new details for each however, and of course Sony will want to big up PlayStation Move and 3D during the event as well. Look out for more liveblogging direct from the event on NowGamer.
Show Floor 8pm BST/12pm PST
We’ll bring you the E3 atmosphere direct from the show floor, posting images, impressions and thoughts to bring you closer to the event. You’ll feel like you’re there, honest.
Warner Bros. 10pm BST/2pm PST
What games will Warner have to show us? FEAR 3? Super Scribblenauts? Arkham Asylum 2? The new Mortal Kombat? Tune in to find out.
Take 2 12am BST/4pm PST
We’ll be checking out Take 2’s E3 lineup, which the publisher is billing as it’s most impressive yet. We’ll be the judge of that, but with Mafia II, Civilization V, XCOM and Spec Ops on show they could well be right.
Warren Spector 1am BST/5pm PST
The legendary developer chats to us about his latest project, Epic Mickey. Hopefully the interview will be just as epic, and a bit less Mickey Mouse.
Nintendo Event 1am BST/5pm PST
An interview with the bods behind the latest developments at the Big N. Whatever dirt we can dig up about Zelda et al will no doubt be dug here.
Media Molecule 2am BST/6pm PST
Alex Evans tells us everything there is to know about LittleBigPlanet 2 – in the spirit of the LBP community, we’re giving you the chance to ask him anything you want about the game. Follow the link to found out how, and look out for the answers, only on NowGamer!
Halo Reach 4am BST/8pm PST
We get our hands on Bungie’s last ever Halo game, with the makers themselves. Look out for our impressions.
Other highlights: F1 2010, Kane & Lynch 2
Wednesday, June 16
Valve 6pm BST/10am PST
We’re going to play Portal 2, and you’re not. Sometimes life’s unfair like that. Don’t fret though; we’ll leave no stone unturned when posting up our extensive impressions on Valve’s triple-A 4D sequel.
Halo Reach 6.30pm BST/10.30am PST
Another of the year’s biggest games, another exclusive interview. It’s all in a (long) day’s work for NowGamer’s E3 team, and we’ll have the results online quicker than you can say “Noble Team”…
LittleBigPlanet 2 7pm BST/11am PST
The first chance to get our hands on LittleBigPlanet part deux. We’re so excited, we’re nervous. Probably won’t have time to design an entire game from scratch, but we’ll give it our best shot. Find out how we get on.
Gears of War 3 8pm BST/12pm PST
We speak to the devs at Epic Games about all things Gears 3.
Activision 9pm BST/1pm PST
The publisher are allowing us to get up close and personal with Guitar Hero 6, Call of Duty: Black Ops, DJ Hero 2, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, True Crime and if that wasn’t enough, a yet-to-be-announced title. Will it be a new Tony Hawks game? We couldn’t possibly say. We’ll know next week, though.
Project Natal 10pm BST/2pm PST
It’ll be called something else by next week, of course, but that doesn’t stop us wanting to get our hands on the latest offerings for the evolutionary Xbox controller. As long as Ricochet isn’t in attendance, we’ll be happy. Find out all of our thoughts, opinions and impressions here on NowGamer.
Final Fantasy XIV1am BST/5pm PST
Square Enix gives us the low-down on the biggest MMOJRPG to date; we’ll have all the impressions of the game, as well as an interview with the key people behind it.
Other highlights: Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Vanquish, Shogun: Total War 2, Brink, Fallout: New Vegas
Thursday, June 17
Sony 6pm BST/10am PST
We’ll be seeing all of Sony’s recently-announced megaton first party titles including everything on Move, Killzone 3 and possibly more besides… Plus we’ll be chatting to developers, 3D experts and more. Awesome.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution 10pm BST/2pm PST
Square Enix’s cyberpunk action-rpg is looking fantastic and we’ll get to see it in action with our very own eyes, before feeding back every single detail to NowGamer for you all to enjoy to your heart’s delight.
Metal Gear: Rising 11pm BST/3pm PST
We talk to the team behind the next big Metal Gear title. Presumably they’ll show us some of the game too, because at the moment we’ve seen nothing. Nada. Zero. Zilch. Well, apart from a rather cool shot of a lightning’d up Raiden. Expect plenty of new info in our interview…
Other highlights: Warhammer 40k, Red Faction: Armageddon,
