Dragon Age Inquisition’s Ten Most Wanted Returning Characters
Dragon Age: Inquisition is now out on shelves, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still wax lyrical about the characters we’d like to see make a return in the upcoming RPG. With so much content and lore to get through, there’s always a chance you may even miss a couple – that’s why we’ve turned to our sister publication games™ to make predictions on what characters are likely to pop up throughout Inquisition’s lengthy campaign.
We recently sat down with Dragon Age: Inquisition’s producer Cameron Lee, who was more than happy to tease a few returning characters – but he stopped short of confirming the full list.
“There’s Morrigan from Origins, Cassandra and Varric – two popular characters from Dragon Age 2 – there’s Cullen from both… a lot of returning, favourite characters and a lot of new characters aswell,” says Lee. “I think characters are something Bioware does really good – people talk about stories that we create, but ultimately it’s the characters that we focus on, and as the characters that people get attached to and either love or hate.”
Did your favourite character make the cut?
Dragon Age’s answer to George from Blackadder Goes Forth, Alistair made a fleeting appearance in Dragon Age II if he survived Origins, and his brand of wry observations in the midst of ludicrous fantasy scenarios would be welcome in Inquisition. We left him as king of Ferelden in Origins. He’ll be back.
Odds on his return
Briefly part of Origins and a main character in Dragon Age II, Isabella is a flirty pirate who makes it very clear she’s into flings rather than relationships. As the series’ most Han Solo-like character, we’d be intrigued to see which power she now obeys in this land, if any.
Odds on her return
One of the few Dragon Age characters who cannot be seduced, since she already had her own in-ranks romance going on with the Templars in Kirkwall, we expect Aveline’s direct ties to her city will remove her from Inquisition’s narrative.
